Kansas State Fair to close Administration Building for two weeks

03/16/2020

In the interest of public health, the Kansas State Fair is closing its office to walk-in visitors beginning Tuesday, March 17.

The soonest the Administration Building will reopen to walk-in business is Monday, April 6.

This action also includes the Fair’s ticket office. Country artist Chris Janson’s concert, which was announced Monday, goes on sale to the general public Friday. All ticket sales will be conducted online only at this time. The Fair will hold back some seating for patrons who can’t purchase online and would like to come into the office to reserve tickets.

Staff will be present throughout the two-week period to take phone calls at 620-669-3600.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but the safety and health of our guests, staff and our community are top priority,” said General Manager Robin Jennison. “We will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation, and we are doing our part to flatten the curve.”

Jennison added the Fair has enhanced cleaning protocols throughout the property to follow CDC guidelines. Staff is making patrons who are renting facilities on the Fairgrounds aware of city and state recommendations regarding the size of gatherings. For those renting buildings for events, please contact the Facility Rentals Department for designated key pickup.
