Year-round Field Trips - Fall 2025

Perfect for students in grades K-5, the year-round field trips are available every Thursday from February-April and again after the Kansas State Fair from October-December. Each month, students will learn some fun agricultural facts, craft a project, and make a delicious treat to enjoy. The field trips will last approximately 90 minutes and occur between the hours of 9am and 1pm. See registration form below for exact dates and times.

This fall, we will have two different options so more classes can join us for the fun. First, we will have our in-person field trips at the Kansas State Fair Education Center, just like we have in the past. Second, to help offer more flexibility, we will be doing a virtual lesson option, allowing for you to join the fun from your own classroom. Teachers that choose the virtual option can opt to have a supply box sent out ahead of the date of the lesson for a small, per student fee, or they can provide their own materials from the list given and join the lesson for free!

*Cost of the in-person field trips is $5.00 per student, teachers are free!
**Virtual field trips have the option to have a box of supplies sent ahead of the chosen date for the same $5 per student fee, or teachers can choose to provide their own supplies from the list that will be provided and join the field trip at no cost.

October 2025: Pumpkins

• Lesson - How heavy is a pumpkin? Take a guess on a few samples and see who gets the closest.
• Activities - Make pumpkin slime using classroom ingredients and of course, a pumpkin!
• Snack - Decorate your very own pumpkin cookie and then eat the results.

November 2025: Turkeys

• Lesson - What makes a turkey unique? Learn how to draw your own turkey.
• Activities - Make a tree out of pumpkin seeds to help shade your turkey.
• Snack - Make a turkey treat bag to eat at the fair or take home for later.

December 2025: Pine trees

• Lesson - Life cycle of a pine tree. What makes a pine different than other trees.
• Activities - Create an ornament from a slice of wood. Take it home for holiday decoration.
• Snacks - make indoor smores.

Register below for any one of the fall 2025 field trip options. Payment for in-person field trips will be due on day of field trip and can be paid by cash or check. if you choose a virtual field trip and opt to have your supplies mailed, payment will be due before shipment can be sent.
