Rep. Larry Hibbard of Toronto was awarded the
2018 Kansas State Fair Legislative Showmanship trophy in front of the Kansas
House of Representatives Monday, Feb. 18, 2019. The trophy was presented by
2017 winner Rep. Adam Smith of Weskan.
Kansas State Fair officials, along with 4-H
and FFA members who helped with the fair's annual showmanship contest, also
were present.
Several
lawmakers from across Kansas participated in this year's Kansas State Fair Legislative
Showmanship, which takes place annually the first Saturday of the fair.
Each lawmaker was assigned a 4-H or
FFA youth who provided an animal and coached the lawmaker on showmanship
techniques.
The award is sponsored by the Kansas Fairs and
Festivals Association.
