2018 Kansas State Fair Grandstand Concerts to Showcase Variety of Fan-Favored Artists

Hutchinson, Kan. – Country chart toppers, up-and-coming superstars, legends of disco, and iconic rockers will all descend on Hutchinson to headline the musical lineup at the 2018 Kansas State Fair.

The Nex-Tech Wireless Grandstand will showcase some of Kansas’ favorite artist and events—every single evening of the Kansas State Fair. From iconic Poison rocker Bret Michaels to country sensation Trace Adkins, there’s something to get you dancing in the stands.

Tickets go on sale on April 27 at 1:00 p.m., with an “early bird” deal that waives the $5 per ticket processing fee if you purchase by May 10. Prices include gate admission for the day of performance if purchased by August 20.

Shake your booty on opening night with funk and disco legends KC and The Sunshine Band–whose hits “That’s the Way,” and “I’m Your Boogie Man” have been making people move for years. Enjoy this “welcome back” party with $10 and $5 tickets, including gate admission.

Kick back on Saturday with emerging country stars Dan+Shay, whose song “Tequila” reached No. 2 on the country charts in January 2018. This duo–whose hits have been featured on the TV shows Nashville and The Bachelorette–will make the workweek fade away with their idyllic lyrics and harmonic sound.

On Sunday, take in the musings of Josh Abbott Band, with special guest BlackHawk. Abbott’s song “Touch” was featured in the movie “The Longest Ride,” and the album “Small Town Family Dream” has been a fan favorite, reaching No. 5 on the top country charts.

Monday brings the roar of the annual Demolition Derby. This family-friendly event is a classic evening of fun that features old-school smash-em-up shenanigans that have long proven to keep audiences on the edge of their seats all night!

Get back to your roots on Tuesday with The Roots and Boots Tour featuring three of country music’s biggest artists—Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw, and Collin Raye—who combined have 16 gold and platinum albums and 14 No. 1 hits, like “Love, Me,” “Kiss This,” and “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful.”

For KING & COUNTRY will take the stage Wednesday, inspiring concertgoers with thoughtful lyrics and soulful sounds. This Australian Christian pop band debuted in 2011, and has remained a perennial chart topper. And with special guest Zach Williams, this evening will leave your entire family feeling renewed and restored.

Travel back to your favorite tunes of the 1980s, with rock sensation Bret Michaels, the former front man for the legendary hair band Poison. With classic hits like “Every Rose has its Thorn,” “Unskinny Bopp,” and “Talk Dirty to Me,” Michaels electrifies audiences with his high-energy and nostalgic lineup.

On Friday, Sept. 14, country superstar Trace Adkins takes the stage–and this is a show you won’t want to miss. For more than two decades, Adkins has excited audiences with powerful performances of fan favorites. Adkins boasts more than 20 top Billboard hits – including “No Thinkin’ Thing,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” and “You’re Gonna Miss This,” from a library of gold and platinum albums – and you can experience it all live at the Kansas State Fair.

On Sunday, the weeklong celebration closes with a Kansas State Fair classic–the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pull. Watch some of the most awesome machinery ever created in a show of force! Wrap up your week with these modern marvels as they pull unimaginable amounts of weight across the grounds of the Nex-Tech Wireless Grandstand. This is a fan favorite that always enthralls motoring enthusiasts of all ages.
