Madrigals is the premier vocal ensemble at Nickerson High School, directed by Mackenzie Spears. In addition to performing at all Music Department concerts, the Madrigals have showcased their talents at a variety of prestigious venues and events, including Wichita State University, Friends University, Bethany College, Dick Clarkâs American Bandstand Theatre in Branson, the Kansas Music Educators Association State In-Service Workshop, Worlds of Fun, the historic Fox Theatre with the Hutchinson Symphony, and the renowned Carnegie Hall.
Throughout the year, the ensemble performs a wide-ranging repertoire that includes pop music, vocal jazz, and advanced selections prepared for regional and state music festivals. The Madrigals are also active in the local community, with numerous performances around Reno County during the Christmas season.
