Year-round Field Trips - Fall 2024

Perfect for students in grades K-5, the year-round field trips are available every Thursday from January-April and again after the Kansas State Fair, from October-December. Each month, students will learn some fun agricultural facts, craft a project, and make a delicious treat to enjoy. The field trips will last approximately 90 minutes with the first of the day beginning at 9:00 am and the last at 1:00 pm. See registration form below for exact dates.

Cost of the field trips is $5.00 per student and each class may bring up to 4 adult chaperones at no cost. Any additional adults will be the same $5.00 per person cost. Payment can be made on the registration form with a credit card or cash/check when you arrive for your field trip.

October - Pumpkins and gourds

• Lesson - Differences vs. pumpkins, gourds and squash. Learn the lifecycle of a pumpkin.
• Activities - Pumpkin seed art and decorate a mini pumpkin.
• Snack - Pumpkin cookie treats.

November - Happy fall y'all

• Lesson - Lifecycle of a tree and the animals that need trees.
• Activities - Leaf art and draw a turkey
• Snack - Mini apple pies

December - The smells of winter

• Lesson - What do different trees and other plants smell like?
• Activities - Wood slice ornaments and draw a gingerbread man
• Snack - Marshmallow snowman snacks
