KANSAS STATE FAIR ARM WRESTLING EVENT
KANSAS CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL RETURN TO HUTCHINSON ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH. AMATEUR COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL FAIRGOERS.
The colorful and competitive sport of Arm Wrestling returns to
the Kansas State Fair. This special event
will feature people from all walks of life - both men and women competing for
local bragging rights.
Events feature
standardized weight classes, streamlined equipment and
National Rankings for all competitors who win a match.
The ARMWRESTLING USA - KANSAS CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held at the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System State at Lake Talbott on Sunday, September 18th. Registration is from noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by a short demonstration at 1:30 and the competition begins at 2 p.m.
The event is a series of Grand Prix competitions that are
held by ARMWRESLING USA across the United States. Fairgoers are the
participants in a unique competition that provides the opportunity for all
lovers of sports to become a weekend athlete.
All competitors that reach the quarter-finals of regional
events in their weight classes will earn special seeding into the Grand Finale
at the Arizona State Fair in November - the winners will officially represent
their area.
There will be competition in
7 divisions - 5 men’s and 2 women’s
by weight class.
Men’s Classes:
- Featherweight (under 144),
- Lightweight (145 -169),
- Middleweight (170 - 193),
- Light Heavyweight (194 - 219)
- Heavyweight (220 & Above).
Women’s Classes
- Lightweight (144 & under)
- Open division (Above 145).
Five pound
weight allowance for clothes.
Opening Round Registration is from 12:00 – 1:30 PM. A Special Clinic will begin at 1:30. Round One
begins at 1:45.PM. Second Round and late
registration begins at 2:30 PM. Round Three is at 3:15 and the Grand Finale is
at 4:00 PM.
Every contestant registering for The Event will pay $10.00.
