The Kansas State Fair Cabin sleeps five (one double bed, a futon and a pull-down "Murphy-type" bed), comes with a full kitchen (refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishes, pots and pans and coffee pot), as well as table and chairs. Beds are fitted with mattresses only; you will need to bring your own bedding (full size sheets), pillows, soap, shampoo and towels. There is no television, and no internet or telephone hookups. Check in times are after 2 p.m. and check out times are at noon everyday, year-round.

Enter the fairgrounds at 20th & Poplar Street, follow paved road to your left, this road curves and goes straight north. Turn left onto 23rd Ave (Lake Talbott is on your left). The Cabin is the 3rd building on your left.

CHECKOUT PROCEDURES

CHECKOUT PROCEDURES
Please leave the cabin as you found it.
  1. Take your personal belongings.
  2. Do your dishes. (soap, dish rags and towels are provided)
  3. Rinse out the coffee pot and coffee basket.
  4. Take the food out of the refrigerator.
  5. Wipe out the microwave.
  6. Wipe down sinks in the kitchen and bathroom.
  7. Wipe down the stove and oven.
  8. Wipe off the table, chairs and counter tops.
  9. Sweep the floors. (Mop, broom and bucket are hanging beside the pull-down bed)
  10. Mop the floors with plain water if they are muddy.
  11. Hang up the mop and broom.
  12. Take the trash to the outside trash receptacle located on the west side of the cabin.
  13. Make sure the windows are closed.
  14. Set the thermostat at 65 in the winter and 75 in the summer. Turn the ceiling fans down to low.
  15. Double check for personal belongings.
  16. Turn out the lights.
  17. Pull the door shut behind you.
