*NEW TIMES: Please review the above schedule closely. DO NOT miss your deadline as this will waive your right for any advance discounted tickets you may have purchased. Only items mailed in will be allowed to arrive earlier than the stated receiving hours. Items brought to the fairgrounds in advance will not be accepted.

ADVANCE PURCHASED TICKETS: Exhibitor tickets purchased at time of entry will only be issued to the exhibitor upon the receipt of their item(s). For any reason, should exhibitors miss the designated receiving hours or choose not to bring their entry/entries, exhibitors waive the right to receive ordered tickets. The Kansas State Fair has a “No Refund Policy”. All advance purchased exhibitor / gate tickets must be “paid in full” by August 15th. If payment has not been made by the August 15th deadline, tickets will not be issued.

The Kansas State Fair is highly interested in the Scout movement in the State of Kansas and urges all boys of Scout age (6 yrs to 18 yrs) to become members and thereby eligible to compete for premiums offered in this department .


All entries are subject to the Kansas State Fair General Rules in addition to any department, division or class rules listed.


  1. Competitive exhibition is open to all registered Boy Scouts in good standing. Only (1) one entry is allowed in each class. Lion & Tiger cubs enter in Division 200, Wolf & Bear rank may enter in Division 201 & 202, Webelos may enter in Division 202 & 203. Boy Scouts enter in Division 204. Classification for entries will go by Scouts registration rank from September 2016 through August, 2017.
  2. Exhibit articles must have been made by the exhibitor since the 2016 Fair and never previously exhibited at the Kansas State Fair except for collections which may be exhibited more than once if new additions are made, labeled and dated.
  3. Food entries should include (6) six samples of one variety. A typed recipe on 8 1/2" x 11" paper with name, address & phone number on bottom left corner must accompany each entry. Recipes become the property of the Kansas State Fair. All food entries should be in a sealed food container such as a storage bag or box.
  4. Collections should be limited to (2) two display boxes or boards. Items need to be clearly labeled. Collections may be entered in consecutive years, provided new additions are labeled and dated.
  5. Drawings, Paintings, and Photography should be matted or mounted. NO FRAMES or glass allowed.
  6. Sweepstakes are determined by a point system: 1st =3 points; 2nd =2 points; 3rd =1 point, and awarded to the Scout in each classification earning the most points. All other judging is done using the Danish System.


Maximum Size Requirements :

§ 12” w x 18” l x 12” h . - Legos (original or kit) entries should be delivered in a shallow box or tray. If created from a kit, instructions must be provided.

§ 15” w x 20” l - Collections and collection boxes.

Judging uses the Danish System. Premiums: Blue - $2.50, Red - $2.25, White - $2.00
