All swine must be housed in the open class swine barn. Swine will be stalled by county group. Check-in is from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, September 8. Animals must be on site by noon. The Grand Drive will be held Saturday, September 10 at 6:00 pm in Prairie Pavilion Arena. The Grand Gala will follow.

  1. All exhibitors must be Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) certified by June 15. Contact your local Extension office for details.
  2. All market hogs and breeding gilts that intend to be sold must be ear tagged before entering the fair. Any gilt to be sold must be weighed during check-in.
  3. All gilts must be identified with some type of permanent ear tag or ear notch.
  4. Original registration or transfer papers for animals in the breeding classes must be in the sole name(s) of the exhibitor by June 15 of the current year. Breeding gilts that are registered in a farm name or whose papers include the name of adults are not eligible to show. Breeding swine may be co-owned and co-registered by two or more 4-H or FFA members of the same family. The individual ear notch number of the animal must match the ear notch on the registration papers.
  5. A 4-H or FFA exhibitor may show a maximum of three breeding gilts, either commercial or registered at this show. If entries exceed pens available exhibitors will be contacted to bring fewer animals.
  6. Show management may divide classes into sub-classes. Classes will be set at discretion of show management.
  7. Market gilts cannot be shown as breeding gilts, even if sifted from market division.
  8. Registered gilts must have breed listed on pre-entry form.
  9. Breeding exhibitors may enter and pay entry fees for as many animals as they wish to enter and not name those they want to show until check-in. Exhibitors may only show a total of three breeding gilts. There will be no refunds given of any of the entry fees.
  10. No substitutions of animals will be allowed.
  11. 3rd, 4th and 5th place animals will be selected from the Champion and Reserve Champion animals.
